LEXUS/TOYOTA vehicles have several different types of screens in their cars, but they all share the same navigation units. We provide 3 types of interface choices for all your Lexus/Toyota needs.
1) Your first choice and least expensive choice is our universal mod. This involves cutting 4 wires at the navigation unit or behind the LCD screen.
2) Your 2nd choice and a little more expensive is to use our factory OEM Lexus/Toyota connectors, which makes the unit 100% plug and play. Plug and play solutions are available for all 2001 and newer cars, part number TL-1
****Please note that if you own a Matrix, Sequoia or any car that has a similar radio, we can still add our interface, but you have to send the radio to our center for modification. We offer 24 turnaround service on all modifications.****
The TVandNav2Go RGB Nav Video interface module is our most popular product and it works with the majority of today's vehicles. This video module is the easiest way to interface a video source such as a DVD Player, TV Tuner, Reverse Backup Video Camera, iPod Video, Video Game Console, PC with composite output or other video source directly to your Lexus/Toyota OEM GPS Navigation LCD screen / LCD Display. The RGB features dual composite video inputs, one of which can be activated automatically when shifting the vehicle into reverse (usually used with a back-up camera).
The TVandNav2Go RGB is an externally wired plug and play RGB converter interface that is installed inline of the GPS navigation computer in your Lexus/Toyota vehicle and LCD screen; it works simply by interrupting the RGB video signal from your GPS navigation computer when you flip a toggle switch or activate 12V on the reverse camera line. When this occurs the GPS navigation system video image will be replaced by the video input that is connected to the TVandNav2Go RGB module.
The TVandNav2Go RGB is a video only input interface module, which means an FM modulator, FM transmitter or CD changer audio input interface adapter needs to be used to connect the audio signal from your external AV source to your audio system if your vehicle does not have an auxiliary input already available. The TVANDNAV2GO RGB is video-in-motion enabled, so the video image will stay on the screen even with the car in motion (however we do not recommend or endorse this).
Vehicle Specific Installation Information:
This kit includes the TVandNav2Go RGB module and a plug and play wiring harness that features factory 10 pin OEM connector that plugs into the navigation computer unit under the passenger seat or in the trunk.
Simply plug the vehicles OEM wiring harness into one end of the wiring harness provided with the TVandNav2Go RGB module, then plug the other end of the TVandNav2Go RGB harness into the location where the vehicles wiring harness was. Then connect 12V power, ground and backup camera connector (if required). The installation is really that simple! Since the unit is plug and play and only requires extra wiring for 12V and ground, it will not void your vehicles factory warranty!
Please note that the RGB unit works with any NTSC video output device and with most PAL devices, some European PAL DVD players and PAL TV Tuners have reportedly been incompatible resulting in a vertical shift of the image. However, many European video devices give the option to output in NTSC mode, eliminating any potential problems.
